The first interview I conducted with is my group member, Joey. This interview was a lot easier than the other two as he knows what this is all about. Since he had to prepare his own questions as well, he had given me answers which I could use for my other interviews. We are close friends so the interview wasn't too formal, so we had fun recording it. The bad thing about this interview is that Joey's voice was too soft, I could not really listen to what we have talked about while trying to write down the transcript. It had caused me a lot of time struggling to figure out what he had been saying during the interview.
The second interview was with Kelly. She is a 50 year old woman. I think this is the best interview because I had gained a lot of knowledge from her. She had told me a lot of her previous experiences about buy one get one free promotions, and also shared a surprising story about her friend who was working as a nurse in a private clinic. She taught me the importance of being careful when buying products which are on promotion. The interview was a bit of a mess because I couldn't really think of any questions that time as my draft was a little too short. Moreover, we were speaking in Chinese which causes a lot more trouble for me as I had to translate them all by myself while doing the transcript.
The last respondent was Lloyd. He is a fresh graduate and had just started working. During our interview, I realize he is a person who does not shop much, therefore he could not really answer my questions. I did not get much information from the interview which had ended up rather short.
It had been a great experience going through these three interviews. I had learn that everyone have their own views on buy one free one promotion techniques. Some thinks that it is very worth it, some did not pay much attention to it, while others thinks that it might be risky in the sense of the quality of the product. But for myself, I think that free things are the best.
